strength

Like several of the pieces in this collection, 'strength' is created on a shingle from my grandfather’s old barn. This winter evening landscape includes a heart, one of my favourite symbols, in the snowy background.

Materials: 

This collage includes textured, Japanese paper, as well as acrylic and watercolour paints.

In keeping with the salvaged wood substrate, the sides are unfinished, with bits of paper and paint drips visible. This piece has a copper wire hanger that can be folded back if you wish to prop it on a mini easel, bookshelf, mantle, or table. Signed on the back, this piece is finished with a matte varnish to ensure protection against fading, discolouration, and moisture. Avoid placing all artwork in direct sunlight.
