lovely posy

This is the first 'posy' in a series of three created from eco-prints using flowers from my garden. The substrate of this collage is a shingle saved from a 100 year old barn in the Maritimes

Materials: 

A scrap from a vintage, rust-dyed handkerchief provides some of the texture of this piece. It also features a page from a vintage history book, as well as other paper scraps and acrylic and watercolour paints.

In keeping with the salvaged wood substrate, the sides are unfinished, with bits of paper and paint drips visible. This piece has a rust dyed yarn hanger that can be folded back if you wish to prop it on a mini easel, bookshelf, mantle, or table. Signed on the back, this piece is finished with a matte varnish to ensure protection against fading, discolouration, and moisture. Avoid placing all artwork in direct sunlight.
