for a moment

Created on a shingle from my grandfather’s 100 year old barn, 'for a moment' is about hope and remembrance in the face of life's transience. Poppies are also said to represent resilience and rebirth

Materials: 

A scrap from a vintage history book, acrylic paint, and watercolours are all part of the many layers of this piece. They still allow the rustic texture of the reclaimed wood to show through, however.

In keeping with the salvaged wood substrate, the sides are unfinished, with bits of paper and paint drips visible. This piece has a twine hanger that can be folded back if you wish to prop it on a mini easel, bookshelf, mantle, or table. Signed on the back, this piece is finished with a matte varnish to ensure protection against fading, discolouration, and moisture. Avoid placing all artwork in direct sunlight.
