During a month long trip to Nova Scotia last summer, it seemed like we were continually led by a raven. There was always one present. Corvids are known for being knowing and wise, but I believe some also have a sense of humour. I'm hoping to befriend one some day and that they will bring me a gift, as they are known to do.
Vintage text with the words 'played' and 'pursuit of knowledge' are featured in this collage on reclaimed wood. The left side has a rough edge. A crow perches on a vintage image of a celestial globe which is said to signify knowledge.
In keeping with the salvaged wood substrate, the sides are unfinished, with bits of paper and paint drips visible. This piece can be hung, but it is solid wood, so it could also be displayed on a bookshelf, mantle, or table. If you wish to hang it, adhesive strips (e.g., 3M) will work or you can use a sawtooth hanger. Signed on the back, this piece is finished with a matte varnish to ensure protection against fading, discolouration, and moisture. Avoid placing all artwork in direct sunlight.
