tell me a story

'tell me a story' is fanciful. It's inspired by all of the colourful fungi I photographed while hiking in Algonquin park. But, it's also inspired by storytelling and the childhood belief that faeries might be found living under mushrooms.

Materials: 

'story' appears in the top left corner ~ a word from a vintage book. Other layers include an old airmail envelope. This collage also features various marks ~ dots and trails.

In keeping with the salvaged wood substrate, the sides are unfinished, with bits of paper and paint drips visible. This piece can be hung, but it is solid wood, so it could also be displayed on a bookshelf, mantle, or table. If you wish to hang it, adhesive strips (e.g., 3M) will likely work or you can use a sawtooth hanger. Signed on the back, this piece is finished with a matte varnish to ensure protection against fading, discolouration, and moisture. Avoid placing all artwork in direct sunlight.
