just be you

'just be you' features an image from medieval times. I love visiting museums online, wandering and searching for open access images to use in my art. At one point, I wasn't sure if I wanted to add the metal brads to this painting or not. Then, the words 'just be you' came to me. This painting is a reminder to be yourself.

 Materials: Layers of acrylic paint are applied thinly and some of the grain of the reclaimed wood comes through. Decorative papers and watercolour pencils, along with pan pastels, and metal brads were also used.
