smooth sailing

For those of us who love to swim...'smooth sailing' is about lazy afternoons spent floating or gliding through water, whether it's a lake, river, or the ocean. This collage is also about the hope that all will be well ~ a wish for smooth sailing throughout the seasons.

Materials: Reclaimed wood is the base for this mixed media collage. Vintage text from a mechanical manual and scraps of a sewing pattern are featured.

In keeping with the salvaged wood substrate, the sides are unfinished, with bits of paper and paint drips visible.
